The Pont Dix-Neuf has spanned the River Seine for some 400 years.

Originally constructed with nine arches and later added to in 1974, the bridge boasts an extraordinary history. Records show that at the time of the French Revolution, members of the aristocracy were hung from metal poles attached to the bridge until they met their grim fate.

Part of the Hyperphilatelic 'Famous Bridges' series of stamps.

Certain to become a classic commemorative stamp.
